ReplyDeleteWhere is the list up? I can't find it.
ReplyDeleteI thought the team had already been chosen? Is the camp just for training purposes?
ReplyDeletewhats happening with natasha hamman?
ReplyDeleteShe's still training. She's doing double layouts and double fronts on floor! She was injured and sick at Nationals this year so couldn't show all she is capable of. Things are really working out in SA with the new coach!
ReplyDeleteWell Lutayenko was responsible for the Ukrainian Olympic team in 2004 - Kozich, Krasnyanska, Yarotska, Scherbatykh, Akhunu and Kvasha - as well as others like Olga Roschupkina. I am sure he can quietly do great things with the SA HPC. Being of the calibre that he is, he just needs the talent base to work with. It wouldn't surprise me to see that program rise in the next few years. It is good that he moved from the VWHPC where they already had an established senior coaching base and his abilities were probably wasted somewhat.
ReplyDeleteHi, Wolfie! Barring injury, the team is chosen, but as far as I know they have not yet determined which gymnasts will compete AA.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for some reports!
:)
Got it - thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteLauren has one of the AA spots based on her performances at Nationals and World selection camp.
ReplyDeleteSecond AA spot is between Georgia and Shona and will be based on who is more in form leading into Worlds. The girl not selcted will compete BB and FX and possibly VT if she has 2 vaults. Larrissa will be doing UB only.
I'm thinking it'll go to Shona, because she's been showing strong DTYs in training and hasn't had the injury delay Georgia has.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it'll be close!
Any word on what the Waverley girls D scores will be?
ReplyDeleteDoes Georgia have her 1.5Y back?
It's good to have a bit of comptition between team mates as it can spur them on and keep them from getting complacent with their routines.
This time around, I have NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER with leaving the decison about the final AA place until much closer to the comp. It's commonsense, considering how many gymnasts are still recovering from various injuries. There was no certainty at Nationals as to how quickly each if those injuries would progress, especially when subjected to the pressure of a Worlds preparation.
ReplyDeleteAny other skills news?
