Oy vey.
I'll be on the feed in a few seconds.
Lauren Vault 14.4
Got the feed working as rotation 2 starts yaaaaay!
Lauren sits in 6th and already I am hating the male commentator.
Just saw Loz sitting, waiting for bars. Is that the black/pink leo or something new? Can't tell.
Aaaaand my feed dropped out :(
I'll re-start my computer after Lauren's bars. Aaaargh (again).
Lauren UB:
Mitchell UB toe on overshoot, Jaeger, toe ono 1/1 – undershoot, double front off (big jump fwd).
Feed not back on in time for Lauren's beam *sigh*
Mitchell BB Mitchell mount, flic – flic – whip (step back), switch leap – back pike, ½ split leap, wolf jump – split jump, 2/1 spin in cossak, free aerial – front tuck, switch ring leap – back tuck, ff – ff – double pike (a bit low and hop fwd).
"15.1 GOES INTO SECOND PLACE! SHAKING AND CRYING!"
YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!
NOW, MORE THAN EVER, DO I WANT HER TO HIT FLOOR
(Correction: into 4th place)
C'mon, Loz! Keep those tumbles in bounds! You can do it! GOOOOOOO LOZ!
Problems with stream? Try http://tvonline.link-tv.ro/index.php/home/36-tvonline/178-Digi%20Sport
(Thanks, Kellie)
Opened with the arabian-stag, a little short. I mised the 2nd tumble, stoodup the double pike.
Pleeeeease.....
pleeeeeease....
Ok 14.025 please be enough!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand..... 4th!?
Ok she went OOB but Tsurumi's Yurchenko full and Bross' fall(s?) still nipped her medal chances in the bud.
LAUREN, WE'RE EXTREMELY PROUD OF HOW YOU REPRESENTED YOUR STATE AND COUNTRY. WELL DONE ON AN EXCEPTIONAL 4th PLACE FINISH.
Just saw her on the stream getting a certificate with the other top-8 placegetters. Nice leo, by the way!
Big love to Loz! Hope she can finally get some silverware in EFs.
lol
ReplyDeleteHi Mez.
Happy to have some company! The live feed is awesome.
Me again. Does anyone know who the Australian commentating is? The English guy called her Tracey.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how good the live feed is. Morning to all others who just had to watch it live too. Love your dream Mez.
ReplyDeleteYeah for the feed!. Best part is having one computer for the feed and another for blogs, boards etc.
ReplyDeleteAaaaand just as I was waxing lyrical, it froze. Nooooo!
ReplyDeleteIt is Tracey Penaluna people
ReplyDeleteMine frozen too
ReplyDeleteim up too
ReplyDeletei think its alisa camplin- he called her alisa
im up too
ReplyDeletei think its alisa camplin- he called her alisa
I definitely heard him call her Tracey, however he doesn't sound very switched on so who knows. Her voice does sound like Alissa
ReplyDeleteJane Allen organised Tracey to do the women and John Curtin and Paul Szyjko to share the men's coverage. The BBC guy was provided by the FIG just so there could be a host.
ReplyDeleteAnyone in AUS got there vision back yet?
ReplyDeleteI haven't lost my vision.
ReplyDeleteMine feed has been great, no drop outs.
ReplyDeleteLauren's leo is so nice! Okay UB but she's going to have to really hit BB and FX if she wants to medal. There were a lot of good UB routines that rotation so she'll have to make up some ground
ReplyDeleteWill re-start computer now. I missed Rebecca Wing's fx, she uses Dasha's music...
ReplyDeleteCurrently in 8th with her 2 best apps to come.
ReplyDeletecorrection 9th*
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beam by Bross
ReplyDeleteThis really sucks that I paid for the wcsn subscription and got up at 430am and just after the beginning of the 2nd rotation the feed claps out on me :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates, they are very appreciated :)
Far out I can't get my feed back on Universal! Grrrrr
ReplyDeleteWhy would Alisa Camplin the winter sportswoman be commentating gymnastics?
Lots of wobbles for Sloan
ReplyDeleteAlissa is an ex gymnast (MLC)
ReplyDeleteSloan wobbled on nearly every element and was slow witht he connecitons but she satyed on. BArring any falls it will be tough for Lauren to make up ground.
ReplyDeleteBross should be the leader by a good margin by the end of the rotation. Sloan, Pogras Deng Linlin, Tsurumi seem to be Lauren's main competition for a mino medal.
Hi not sure if I am doing something wrong
ReplyDeleteNot great with computers
coverage is static and not smooth it looks like the buffering is this normal or am i doing something wrong
any advice would be great
you nay not have a fast enough internet connection for live streaming and that's why it keeps stopping to buffer.
ReplyDeleteDLL fell on BB and is out of medal contention. Sloan got a 14.00 even though she had 3 0.3 wobbles. Lauren up on beam next followed by Pogras. Could steal bronze with hit routines.
My streaming is constant. Try re-freshing to see if that helps.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh. I'm going to miss Lauren's Beam (or I already have) cannot get my feed back.
ReplyDeleteHTYE DIDN'T SHOW LOZ'S BEAM! Hopefully it will be replayed. Pogras up now.
ReplyDeleteMitchell BB Mitchell mount, flic – flic – whip (step back), switch leap – back pike, ½ split leap, wolf jump – split jump, 2/1 spin in cossak, free aerial – front tuck, switch ring leap – back tuck, ff – ff – double pike (a bit low and hop fwd).
Looks like she didn't fall and she was within time 1.24.
lauren 2nd! what's her score though- they didnt show it. grrrr
ReplyDeletethey said Loz was in 2nd!
ReplyDeleteHope they show her beam.
Polgras is off!
Sad for her but go Loz
Lauren in 2nd place now after 3 rotations. Damn they didnt show her beam.
ReplyDeleteLots of unique skills in her beam. Free walkover into tuck front somersault and she gets a huge score to go into 4th spot - 15.1
ReplyDelete15.1 for Lauren on Beam
ReplyDeleteTook a while to calculate Lauren's D score. E score was 8.6, for a 15.1, she moves up to 4th. Pogras fell. 4 way battle between Bross Sloan Tsurumi and MItchell.
ReplyDeletecorrection.
ReplyDeleteLoz in 4th!
Go girl
Can't believe how short the leading group looked.
ReplyDeleteLauren looked 3-4 inches taller than anyone else in the group and I think she is short!
Lauren 15.100 on beam.Yay they showed it.
ReplyDeleteThey showed the routine. Looked good save for some steps back on her layout and her back pike. Her aerial front tuck combo was awesome and evern her switch ring looked better than usual. tiny step on dbl pike.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Loz can get bronze with a rocked FX? Especially as the Japanese girl only has a FTY apparently?
ReplyDeleteBrinds
bross 44.9
ReplyDeleteSloan 43.625
Tsurumi 43.575
Mitchell43. 125
She's .450 off of a medal. Tsurumi is on VT the others are on floor. tsurumi did a fty in prelims but might bust out the dty for finals COME ON LOZ! Hope those steps on her UB dismount and on BB dont cost her a medal...she scored higher on vt in prelims too.
come on lauren
ReplyDeleteSloan hit. In prelims Lauren's Fx was 0.5 better than Tsurumi's FTY even ith a 0.1 OOB. So if Tsurumi doesn't do the DTY Lauren has a good chance to medal.
ReplyDeleteLauren didn't fall on fx. Double arabian step back but then did her stag jump ot cover. Full in step oot only 0.1 2.5 to front lay was nice and dbl pike tiny hop forward. Leaps were great.
ReplyDeleteComes odwn to tsurumi's vt.
14.025 for Loz
ReplyDeleteYang Yilin did the DTY
ReplyDeleteOOB deduction loses Lauren the bronze - so disappointed
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteAnd got 14.275.
ReplyDeletefinal results-
ReplyDelete1. bross
2. sloan
3. tsurumi
4. mitchell
Lost by 0.25 what a crock. A fty should not be on the podium.
ReplyDeletethis really hurts
ReplyDeleteThat's 0.025 not 0.25
ReplyDeleteif she hadn't gone OOB she would have won the bronze
ReplyDeletewell done lauren
ReplyDeletePoo, poo, poo
ReplyDeleteSo close.
Great effort though Lauren.
is anyone else like, really devastated to miss out by so little?
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll be able to rewatch this meet again.
Bross with a fall and Tsurumi with a fty are on the podium, leaves a bit of a bitter taste.
ReplyDeleteSloan Won?
ReplyDeletethe step out cost her the bronze.. shame..
ReplyDeleteyes, Bross had a 12.875 fx.
ReplyDeleteTsurumi did a DTY
ReplyDeleteGeez that's gotta be tough to swallow for Bross, leading the whole way and then losing the world title in a complete meltdown.
ReplyDeleteno, she did a FTY.
ReplyDeleteYes, quite bittersweet. But she finally proved what a strong AAer she is.
ReplyDeleteBRING IT HOME IN EF, LOZ!
Tsurumi did a FTY and scored 13.6. Lauren outsocred her on every event except UB.
ReplyDeleteMy apologies, I was looking at another gymnast
ReplyDeleteKind of a downer to have missed it by such a small margin but when you think about Lauren really did herself proud. To be the 4th best AAer in the world and almost medal at her first major AA comp is amazing. if she can continue to improve her UB she'll really be a threat in future comps. Her VT was being debuted and it did not disappoint.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that she can bring it in the EFs and leave these World's with at least one medal.
BTW this is the second best placing in the AA for an Aussie behind Monette 2005 bettering Dasha 06 by one spot.
I'm just sad because I really think she deserved it. Tsurumi is basically a 2 event gymnast and they happen to be the highest scoring events. Lauren is unquestionably the better AAer. Its just so hard for me to think what could've been.
ReplyDeleteWell Tsurumi hit to the best of her ability in every routine. I'll got crazy if I think about which hop or step nack cost Lauren the most :(
ReplyDeleteMan, I'm really sad. Can't bear to think of what could've been if she hadn't take a step here or had a wobble there. I hope she is not too disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI think the clearest thing is that she needs to work work work on bars. You cannot do well in AA without good bars - the top 3 on the podium had the top 3 UB scores of the night. Bars really let her down tonight.
Agreed.
ReplyDeleteAustralia has been left for dead on Bars. Apart from Miller there is not one other Aussie with a decent bar set. A clear area of work for future generations and another hard lesson learned.
Then again remember that Lauren did not even have bars for the Games last year so she has worked hard to get them up to the point where they are even worthy of an AA showing
ReplyDeleteShe had a 6.5 a-score in 08, but they mustn't have been consistent. I don't think she's improved that much to be honest. Her shoots are a little better and she has taken out the inside stalders she had trouble with but there's not that much that is different. She needs to think about training some high valued releases because her pirouetting technique isn't the greatest.
ReplyDeletein the lead up to Beijing I don't think it was ever really intended for Lauren to compete UB in TF, so the focus was much more on BB and FX. This year she upgraded VT but has said that her UB was mainly the same, no new elements only osme were rearranged. I'ld assume that her coaches know that UB is where she really needs to improve and over the next year we will see some upgrads, especially since her VT and BB for the most part are pretty maxed out.
ReplyDeleteInteresting side note : The last major comp where someone with a FTY made the podium was 1993 :\
Woohoo, congrats Lauren! Fantastic result!
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all sorry about Tsurimi on the podium -- she is astonishingly clean, and I would greatly prefer to see more clean gymnastics. That being said, I would have burst with happiness if Lauren had gotten a medal.
I love that Lauren has had two solid AA comps in such a short period -- it really shows that qualies was NO fluke. She is now a contender!
YEEAAAHHHHH!
I agree with Anonymous 7.51am. Tsurumi deserved her medal, single-twisting Yurchenko or not. She was clean. She has great form. I wish there were more gymnasts like her, and I'm glad she was rewarded for her great execution.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I hope Lauren kicks ass in the event finals...
