Just came home to read this:
Gymnastics Australia is pleased to announce that One HD will screen a two hour program of the 2010 Pacific Rim Championships on Friday, 25th June at 5pm. Presented in nine segments, the program will primarily focus on the women’s team and all around competitions and include features on Australian gymnastics and the men’s team, all-around and apparatus finals.
(Interestingly enough, GA's original announcement listed Network 10 instead of OneHD but it it was a minor error. Either way... wooohooooooooooooooooo!!!)
Also...
On June 18th, keep your eyes on OneHD's mothership, the aforementioned Network 10, because VWHPC gymnasts Britt Greeley and Zoe Lorenzin will be guest-hosting Totally Wild at 8am.
*readies the popcorn and beanbags*
Yay!! Looking forward to it. And to quell the expected revolt .. the footage is mostly that shot by NBC, who weren't interested in the RG or TRP. That's why it's the artistic stuff on show. It's not a GA conspiracy :)

Oh great! I'm going to be on a plane!
ReplyDeletedid anyone else get one of those books from Wais? I ordered one for my daughter but it hasn't arrived yet and it seems a while to wait.
ReplyDeleteI ordered one and am still waiting.
ReplyDeleteI do know, at least, that they've processed the order forms because when I introduced myself to Liz Chetkovich at PacRim, she smiled and said, "Oh yes, you ordered a book from us!"
What book?
ReplyDeleteThanks Mez, at least I know they haven't just forgotten mine!
ReplyDeleteLookie what I found:

Thankyou so much to the person who did this!
Katie is awesome....
ReplyDeletehope these girls get another qualifier for nationals sometime because it seems a lot of them had horror days or were not quite ready. So silly scheduling QLD states after the cutoff date.

Love that girl.
Is anyone gonna be able to record/upload this for us Brits? :)
ReplyDeleteNetwork Ten owns and runs OneHD so GA was in fact correct. Ten is the network and OneHD is the channel! Seen as though you appear to have so much interest in the errors of GA, I guess an apology is not out of the question?
ReplyDeleteHey, last anon, I wasn't condemning them. I thought it was a minor mistake that can happen to anyone in writing. Relax! I don't have some anti-GA agenda, yeesh!
ReplyDeletesorry Mez but there was no reason to point out the error - it looks petty
ReplyDeleteI think most people would assume that 'Network 10' meant channel 10, hence Mez was clearing up any confusion people might have had. I'm sorry but you're the one being incredibly petty by treating a clarification as some kind of monumental attack on Gymnastics Australia.
ReplyDeleteif the broadcast of pac rim's on one hd is the same one nbc showed in the states it has already appeared on you tube, if you won't be near a tv when it airs, you may want to try to find it on you tube (sorry i don't have access to it on my work pc or I'd have put the link)
ReplyDeleteIt won't be the same coverage.
ReplyDeleteIt will be thge same footage, different editing, different commentary.
ReplyDeleteIt is so obvious GA has nothing better to do than to post comments on here. You should be doing more for the sport and the athletes instead of wasting your time making petty comments about Mez and all the hard work she does on this blog.
ReplyDeleteThere are people out here that have no affiliation with GA that still have a clue and know what's going on. Mez puts herself out there so she needs to roll with it. Toughen up!
ReplyDeleteRe: Totally Wild
ReplyDeleteThe US Open golf is being shown on Friday morning (18th), which means that Totally Wild isn't on.
Any idea when the girls' episode is rescheduled to?
I would like to appreciate you guys for sharing such an impressive comments.
