Youth Olympic Games: WAG AA Final LIVE!

Gah! I didn't realise it was on already.

Go here and click on "Bishan Sports Hall" on the right to get women's gymnastics.

Angela's in a black and pink leo. Rotation 2 is about to start, she looks to be in the second group of girls to compete on bars.
BARS: My feed skipped! Pretty much missed the whole thing (jump mount onto high bar, giant full, there were some others giants in there somewhere, an overshoot to handstand, stalder on low bar immediately up to high bar, something something something something else!) save for the dismount, which was a full in back out with the tiiiiiniest of shuffles. Scores 13.100

BEAM: You are KIDDING ME. My feed stopped again! Caught the mount (split leap on), the the rulfova (very steady), front aerial, little choreo flourish, BHS LOSO with a step backward. Feed froze, didn't catch anything in the second half. Scores 13.800.

She's 8th going into the last rotation.

FLOOR: We didn't see it! They kept the cameras on Sasada, Sixin and Komova.

Shaoyi having a chat with the Chinese coach.

ANGELA FINISHES 7th OVERALL, WELL DONE ANGELA!!!

  1. It skipped on my computer too, it was very annoying.

  2. Nice routine from Angela for a 13.1
Her Ray transition was a little off. Clean tkatchev, a little close to the bars. Great dismount, clean leg form with a slight hop. D score was 4.9 E score 8.2
Seemed a little low compared to what else we were seeing. I think they're being a bit more lenient on the girls with the higher difficulty. That said UB is being hammered by the judges and Angela's 8.2 is one of thehigher E scores.

  3. I think the score was fair. The Tkatchev is very flat and lacks counter rotation, the LB-HB transition the same. Hopefully they can replace the Tkatchev when she gets her new release and some other Ds becasue it probably incurs more deductions than it's worth.

  4. It was quite flat but I think she can improve it. She's really in need of some difficulty on UB so I don't think they'ld want to remove it. In terms of higher difficulty releases the Tkachev family seems to have the ones that are easiest to upgrade to. you don't see too many defs or layout jaegers but there are plenty of ricnas and hindorffs out there. I don't get why more of our girls don't do tkachev releases instead of jaegers and gingers.

  13. did she upgrade to the double pike dismount?

  14. She had more bobbles throughout her beam routine than she did in the qualification round. She still did a nice job though.

  25. I didn't mean it disparagingly! We've seen extremely little of Hogg as far as I can tell. Unless her routines were shown in the moments when my computer crapped out! I was looking forward to seeing her floor. You heard her get announced to the crowd, and the commentators talked about how much they liked her floor, and they didn't cut away to show it.

  26. Lol
I was actually going to ask if Britain had anyone competing because I hadn't heard about them.

  27. They did show Jessica Hogg on bars in the first rotation, but then I gave up on the feed so not sure about after that.

  28. Hogg finished 18th. Looking at scores she must have struggled on bars and in particular beam.
