Weeeellllll call me a stodgy blogger, call me what you will, but I didn't stay up for the men last night (if we could get a live stream it might've been a different story).
GA has a full wrap-up here.
The men are sitting in 12th, so they could very well go through to next year's World Championships (which of course we're hoping for)!
Josh Jefferis is in a nail-biting 20thAA! Only the top 24 will make it to the all-around and there are 6 more subdivisions to go so we'll cross our fingers for him. Prashanth Sellathurai managed a 15.566 on pommel, looking pretty good for a spot in the final.
You can read Blythe Lawrence's live recap of their subdivision here.
In other Aussies-at-Worlds news, read Brigid McCarthy's pre-Rotterdam interview with Georgia Bonora here.
I forgot to add that yesterday marked ONE YEAR since Lauren's historic beam and floor silver medals in London! Happy Belated Lauren Mitchell Day!
Wishing both Georgia Simpson and Martine George a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY today, 19th October.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia will be "Sweet 16".Not sure about Martine , 21? (again)
Hope they let them have a slice of cake!
Prash is currently in first on pommel as far as I can see so 8 people would need to beat his awesome 15.566 for him to be out of the final. Good for him!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Gergia, Sweet 16 today. You rock girl.
ReplyDeleteAccording to GA website the team has finished in 18th so will get to compete at next year's Worlds. Prashanth has also qualified for the pommel final. Unfortunately Josh got bumped out of the AA but is a reserve. Thomas Pichler is also a reserve on floor. Well done guys!
