Rotterdam 2010: WAG All-Around Final LIVE!

See previous posts for links to live coverage.

I amended my previous to say - tune in at 4:30am.

***************************************************

4:25m- hallloooooooo nightowls!

A WORKING FEED IS AVAILABLE HERE http://nos.nl/dossier/186957-turnen--wk-2010/tab/97/live/ thanks Robin!

Bonora in London AA leo, rotating with John.
Lauren also in London AA leo, my guess is she's rotating with Nikolai

(Sorry, I've had to abandon livetweeting)

UB Mitchell: Hecht mount, stadler ½ - Jaeger, toe on 1/1 – overshoot, double front off. 5.5/13.900

BB: Bonora: wolf jump, switch leap – back tuck, free aerial – flic – layout (wobble), onodi, side somi, side aerial, switch ring leap, turn, ro – double pike off (jump back). 6.0/14.466

Peggy makes an appearance as the gymnasts march to rotation 2.
ETA: Looks like she'll be overseeing Lauren on beam.

Georgia 7th after one rotation

BB Mitchell: We heard her announced in the background of Bross UB. "Great save on bhs bhs 2 ft lay!" Ff – ff- layout to 2 feet (wobble), split – wolf jump, 2 ½ cossak, switch ½ - back tuck, frea erial – front somi, switch ring leap, ff- ff- double pike off (squat). 6.5/14.900

FX Bonora: double back, 2/1, 1 ½ through 1/1. Can't seem to find further notes (or a score)

Lauren in 5th after two rotations. She's up first on floor!

FX Mitchell: THEY'RE SHOWING IT! Can't tell if arabian-stag went OOB, it was extremely close. Foot didn't touch the ground as she turned around from the stag leap but may have been considered over. Everything else kept in nicely, crouch turn a tad unsteady! Piked full in, 2.5 to punch front layout, better than we've seen her do. Double pike with small hop. Looks tired but made it through! A nail-biter! 5.8/14.600

VT Bonora: THEY SHOWED IT! Stuckitty stuck Yurch full! 13.966, she looks very happy.

Lauren 6th after 3 rotations

VT Mitchell: DTY 14.733 into third place for now but, barring some miracle, probably won'y stay there. SHOWED ON THE FEED! Legs a bit buckled in the air but STUCK like crazy! Ok, goes into 4th.

UB Bonora: No indication anywhere of what she performed except for the dismount.

*** LAUREN FINISHES 6th WITH 58.133

(gets a hug from Ariella Kaeslin in the marshalling area... BEST FRIENDS 4EVA LOL)

*** GEORGIA FINISHES 14th WITH 55.698

The top 8 will be presented on the podium so don't touch that dial!

LADIES WE ARE SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!

  1. There is a photograph of a gymnast in the Herald Sun's 'Eye on the World' photos. A Chinese gymnast.

  2. I am a bit concerned the Justin TV feed will not work because it says the content was removed. Also, is the Rotterdam site actually offering full coverage? For free? Anyway I'm going to check back in with HTB Sport (georgian tv) because they seem to be covering all the events so far.

  7. Has anyone actually seen an Aussie routine yet? the feed I am using is great quality but I keep getting either the gymnast before or after our girls routines. I'm trying to work out if it is worth changing.

  8. Nope, not yet.

    They MAY show Lauren's FX!

  9. Yay for Live footage of Lauren's floor. Worth staying up for that. Stressfull though. Quickhits are saying she didn't goo OOB but it sure looked close! And yay, while I'm writing this they showed Georgia's Vault.

  10. Nice job Georgia! I'm glad she is having a great comp, she deserves it.

  11. Mitchell's London rivals being seen off by big errors- first Tsurumi then Bross!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bross's error seems to have hardly cost her. Crazy E score IMHO.

  13. poor lauren....another solid comp and no medal. But I guess she will be happy since she has been injured all year and hasn't been able to upgrade. If she could only upgrade those bars she would do great, she is on par with the leaders everywhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  14. IG Says 14.933. Can we take that score instead?

    ReplyDelete
  15. it stil wouldn't be enough for third, just a tiny bit short. It is def 14.733, i have the official scoring window open with live updates.

  16. Bars, from what I heard, went very well for her so she maybe got lowballed there...

Ah well. We love ya, Loz!

    ReplyDelete
  17. That is soooo wrong. Bross should not be getting a medal out there tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  18. man, it's just the bars. She really needs to tackle that. Surely she can add in some releases or something? She has had the same routine for a couple of years now.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I know Bross is not that much better than a clean Porgras that she deserves a medal with a fall. Second year in a row she has medalled in AA with a fall.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bross needs to get about a 2 point deduction for that "choreography." It's awful.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Here's hoping, once again, for some EF redemption!

  22. That was Beautiful! Mustafina best world Champion that I can remember. She is stunning. Well done to Lauren and Georgia going 8 from 8. Great job. I'm keen to see Georgia's beam - she scored very well for it.

  23. What is so great about Lauren is that as a rookie senior she was always so nervous and inconsistent. She has really matured into a tremendous competitor and team leader. It has been so nice to see her so stable up there. You just get the feeling things have really clicked into place for her.

    ReplyDelete
  24. lol anon 6.16 my thoughts exactly. Her execution on floor was only 0.1 lower that Mustafina's. How is that possible when it is so awful to watch. Her leggs never look straight either.

    ReplyDelete
  25. oh, and on that note, I think there is plenty of hope for Georgia Wheeler, even if she has been a little inconsistent this year. I'm sure it will come for her too with time and experience. Don't write her off just yet.

  26. hello! As President of We Love Lauren-USA Chapter, I have to say I'm just thrilled with Lauren today! Even if she was bloody underscored.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well done girls - hit routines! Lauren seemed to pretty much get everything she could out of her routines. Maybe could have been a bit cleaner on beam, but other than that she did really well. Georgia certainly is the queen of landings isn't she.

Bross:ahhhh.....she should so be getting more deductions for her lack of gracefulness, bars included. And that beam - shouldn't there have been two deductions - 1 for grabbing the beam to prevent a fall and one for the actual fall?? Or atleast messiness prior to the fall and then the fall?? I don't hink that is reflected in her score. Still scored quite high, but I guess she has the reputation.

  28. Hey Robin, thanks for stopping by!

I hear your club does a great sandwich platter! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. annon @ 6:28, Bross most certainly got a scoring boast from her reputation (and the leo she has on...). Her beam was ridiculously overscored compared to other routines today.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Am I correct in thinking that Mustafina has hit 12 for 12 so far at this comp?

Fingers crossed for EF for her. Vault and floor and probably her best chances, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  31. hey Mez! yes, awesome sandwiches and and "adult beverages" :)

I actually broke down and bought some Fosters for today! (it's afternoon here in Washington DC) anything that might help Loz!

Sounds like Georgia had a tremendous day, so happy for her, too!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hey Anon 6.28, whilst I would like to see Bross get deducted way higher for bad form, if a gymnast grabs (0.5)then falls (1.0), you only take the higher of the two deductions not both (1.5). Makes sense to reward the gymnast who tried to stay on rather than pinging her twice.

What she should have been deducted however is for the lack of height in the arabian and the off direction which then led to the fall.
Pretty sure they took 1.0 only.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Lets face it, Bross is bloody good but in sport where scoring is so subjective, look out for this type of crap. I'm just pleased i can't lay a bet in this sport, Maybe that in itself is the problem, not enough scrutiny. Tipping one of the Beam judges was from the wild west - maybe even Texas...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Congratulations to both girls on a fantastic job. Great to see an improvement on placings after the qualifications. Looks like Lauren did pretty much the best she could so a bars upgrade would probably be next on her list. Still those scores from Mustafina are crazy and it will take a mammoth effort for anyone to be able to beat her. Look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with to try and beat her.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The scores from third place to sixth place are quite close. Lauren was within a sneeze of a podium finish. I think she's awesome - probably our most competitive gymnast ever.

Hope she gets the medal she deserves in beam and/or floor.

    Go Lauren!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yes, Lauren did so well, if she could upgrade on bars then I think she could get even closer to an AA medal.
As mentioned, incredible performace from Mustafina, huge difficulty, things are looking good for Russia.

    ReplyDelete
  37. This worlds has really turned out quite alright

We see Georgia Simpson enter the scene.....

The girls don't die of Delhi Belly....

    We beat the Brits.....

We have finalists in every phase of the competition....

    Girls hit their routines....mostly....

Emily and Lauren come back strong from their injuries.....

Certain haters on other boards who said our team was crap after nationals have been proven wrong...

I'd say that all is good right now
