Also?
Floor final? Mitchell in, Bulimar out!?
OMG YOU GUYS
OH
TO THE EMMEST
OF GEE'S
Here's her stellar floor from the all-around. The top score on floor for the entire competition so far, I hear!
Certainly hope she can repeat this kind of performance on the night.
A lovely interview with Lauren post-aa can be found here.
Its official now for Lauren! How exciting! Mez congrats on passing your test!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGo Loz!!!
ReplyDeleteYou passed! Yay! You obviously took my handbrake and speed limit warnings very seriously.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS.
Now let's hope Lauren has some success too!
PS.... where in Mexico is anywhere that sounds like "Ossu Buco"!?
ReplyDeleteI tried googling and... nuthin'!
PPS - Thanks everyone. Truly. :)
Sorry, "Osso Buco", like the dish.
ReplyDeleteI mean, wuuuuuuuuht???
Lauren wasn't on the provisional list for Stuttgart but i had a feeling that she might compete there after being so successful in 2008 and 2010.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the gym calendar I think the comp in Mexico is at Acapulco. It's a resort town which fits in with the "on the beach" line and does sound similar to Ossu Buco, which is an Italian meat dish and not a Mexican city.
According to this:

An invitation was extended to an Australian gymnast.
ohhhh! ACAPULCO! Of course!
ReplyDeleteI was in google going "Mexico Ossob... Osob... ozob..."
Are the gymnasts privy to the judges' score break downs? Or is that released after worlds? I only ask because Lauren credited with a 6.3 floor routine last night when she was going for a 6.5. Looks like they downgraded her turn and her Gogean. If this is the third time she has gotten her Gogean downgraded maybe she should just go for the split full. She wouldn't be losing anythign on the D score as her Gogean is downgraded to a split full anyway and it was always a very clean leap for her.
ReplyDeleteNot to dash everyone's hopes but it still hasn't been confirmed that Bulimar has been pulled out.
ReplyDeleteYeah I wouldn''t get too excited until we know for sure. Interesting, if Lauren is in then first reserve will be Afanasyeva, Russia could possibly pull Komova out and Afanasyeva would also compete as she would probably be more chance than Komova.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, rumors are bad. Gymnastics Australia would be the first to announce this if it were true.
ReplyDeleteMy fingers, toes and arms are crossed for lauren! She deserves her chance and regain her title!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on passing your test, Mez! I'll reserve my excitement about Lauren until we officially know that she gets to compete. (We don't officially know yet, do we?)
ReplyDeleteIntlgymnast has tweeted that Bulimar has a broken foot and that Lauren is in. Go Lauren!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's official now.
