In news just to hand...
Have been linked to some videos from the 2012 Hayley Nothling Challenge in Queensland.
Larrissa Miller has put some new tumbles into her floor routine so don't go throwing her under any buses straight away based on the performance below.
Below is footage of Tamika Jones (floor) and Georgia Godwin (beam).

I think Larrissa looks pretty good, actually! Certainly ahead of where she was at this time last year.
So she has a front double twist, a double arabian, a 2.5 twist to front layout (NEW!)...I wonder what the last tumble is planned to be?
This will definitely improve her D score on floor and her Olympic chances.
Thank you for linking, Mez!

Oops, I made a mistake: I see that it is actually a front full twist to the front double twist. Impressive!
:)

Really think georgia should have done her dty but the coaches must be holding her back, even though her floor was a little sloppy, from what i hear its the first time shes completed a full routine since injury so will be great when mastered.
It looks like what'll be potentially a really nice floor routine for Larissa. I really like her choreo, as well as her new tumbling lines. I just hope her last line isn't a double pike. I'm soooo over that boring and predictable dismount!
Last pass will be a double pike for sure.
anyone know if Miller has added any upgrades for bars? She has had that same routine for much of the quad, it seems the right time now if ever. It's the one area where she can make herself indispensable.
More and more, I think Lauren, Emily, Ash and Larrissa are locks, if healthy. The final place seems to be between Mary Anne Monckton and Nikki Chung. What a shame it isn't still 6 people per team -- they would almost certainly all make it if so. Brown is still a potential challenger, too.
Re Larrissa's floor: I'm a bit rubbish at identifying leaps...can anyone confirm that Larrissa is doing:
Triple pivot (C value)
Change ring leap (C)
Switch leap 1/2 (C)
Change split full (D)
Also, I love that she throws the jete en tourant in just before the final pass, purely for choreography. A lovely routine.
I think Nikki is a lock before Larissa or Mary Anne, we need AA gymnasts.MAM , GRB and Larissa are not really strong AA.
nikki is very weak on floor though....
Neither is Nikki. However I agree, provided she can consistantly perform her DTY and 5.9 (or better) bars she would be hard to leave off. It would be great if she could rock up at nationals with a good beam or floor too. This team is so hard to pick. I see Lauren and Emily as the only locks. The rest will come down to team complement. If Ashleigh can provide a reasonable UB score (5.0 +) she would be a lock. Then a team of
Lauren (VT BB FX)
Emily (AA)
Ashleigh (AA)
Nikki (VT UB BB)
Miller (UB FX)
Could work with MAM as reserve.
If Ashleigh can't do bars it gets a whole lot trickier. Then if Chloe is in the mix it becomes even more complicated! I guess we'll have to wait and see ....
It's so tricky. At this stage, Nikki is well behind MAM on beam, so we either go for stronger vaulting with Nikki, or stronger beam with MAM. It's probably going to depend a little on injury status and fitness as well.
At least we are covered with floor. Fairly strong routines from Lauren, Emily, Ashleigh AND Larrissa.
Sorry disagree with Larissa being fairly strong on floor.she may have upgraded tumbles, but they are far from being dependable . I suppose a good test will be in China. You would have to hope that she will compete her upgrades for the comp experience and prove to Peggy that she can do it at an International standard. I wouldn't put Ash down as an AA , her bars would be embarrassing at an Olympics. MAM seems to be only capable of beam at the moment, a bit hit and miss. Her bars have gone down in reliability.Lauren and Emily are already locked in, Nikki could surprise everyone although do agree she can be a bit inconsistent .My worry is injury as they all are still trying to upgrade for selection.
Off the topic I know, but has anyone heard how G Simpson is doing after her nasty fall at Pc Rim?how is she recovering? and will she get back to competing in the future?
I dont think Nikki is any more or less reliable than MaryAnne. That's what makes the decision so difficult.
It might come down to difficulty then between Nikki and Maryanne. I would still consider Ash a chance but she will have to compete bars as I don't think there is anyway they will only have three on bars in qualifications.
Thanks for asking about Georgia, she is doing ok.has had her stitches removed, all 17! ( A little more than a few butterfly bandaids.) On the road to recovery . Support staff at WAIS have rallied around her giving amazing support. She has started back doing some physio exercises, upperbody work, flex and stretches. Thanks to Martine and Nikolai for being very caring and supportive coaches.
Is Georgia Goodwin age-eligible for London olympics?
No, Georgia Godwin (one O) is not age-eligible for the Olympics.
She is terribly messy anyway
Yes she is very messy!!!
But terribly AWESOME!!! you have to admit.
I would like to see you people that criticise try some of the skills georgia godwin is attempting. Those that do do and those that cant criticise, so shut your mouths and show some support.
She was good enough to win nationals last year!!!
No one said she wasn't awesome. She just doesn't look like she enjoys being there. When Larissa competes sho looks like she loves competing even if she doesn't. She just needs to show it off a little more and she will be brilliant. It is not lack of support, but rather constructive criticism.
She might be doing hard skills but on an international arena she would get deducted heavily
well that is yet to be seen isnt it
Not sure if I like Larissa's music. You couldn't really hear it but not keen.Sounds a bit wishy washy.Hope she can pull it off in China.
To be fair. I thought that was one of the cleanest beam routines done by Georgia. Yes her flick flick layout was messy but that you can tell is because of lack of confidence. Was no one else impressed by her connections? I think she did a fantastic job! If she can hit that at nationals she will certainly take the beam title in my opinion.
