For those of you in or near Perth, Loz will be appearing at Challenge Stadium this Saturday (nov 26th) to sign autographs with other WA sports stars from 1:00pm as part of ABC Grandstand's 21st birthday.
'Britt G, Rach B, Ulln S, Georgia B & Angela D all had a light touch training session this morning out at Canberra City Gymnastics before enjoying a nice relaxing & quiet afternoon.'
Cool that Bonora and Donald are competing!
Apprently Warnock is 2nd AA after day 1 IDP10. Anyone know who is winning IDP10?
VWHPC said: "After Day 1 for the IDP 10 - Snr gymnasts, results are as follows: IDP 10 - Aimee Warnock 2nd AA. Jnr - Alex Eade 1st AA, Maddi Leydin 2nd AA. Snr - Britt Greeley 1st AA. Well done! Keep up the good work girls! Day 2 for the IDP 10 - Snr girls tomorrow, with the IDP 5 and 6 competition starting on Friday."
Day one results are up here; http://www.act.gymnastics.org.au/default.asp?MenuID=WG%5FNational%5FClubs%5FChampionships%2F21259%2F0%2CInternational%5FLevels%2F21260%2F0%2F0%2CResults%2F21261%2F0%2F0
IDP 10 1st AA is Eden Tarvit from QAS. First and second overall from IDP 8 is Rianna Mizzen and Grace Shepherd from QAS by more than 7 points. Super job girls.
still an important meet for Donald/Bonora/Greeley to show PLid they haven't gone away. I am surprised we didn't see more of an effort to attend by Simpson/Wurth/Joura/Budack/Lorenzin - even if only 1 apparatus. Important to stay on the radar heading into next year.
The AIS Olympic squad girls do not get funded for National Clubs. I am sure Peggy knows what each individual member is capable of at the moment and perhaps does not need to see them at this comp. All programs have been drained over the past weeks with so many girls and coaches away. With camp coming up , probably not necessary for them to do an extra trip. Especially coming from WA.
I am a little surprised at how little our girls get out and compete. I can understand the Seniors that are away but the others. The only reason should be that they are injured. HPC has managed to send girls and they probably have been the most effected with travel lately. Getting out there and competing is valuable experience. It is why some of our seniors Fall apart when on the World Stage. They just haven't got out there enough. This attitude is spreading to the other levels.

ReplyDeleteOnly 3 juniors competing all apparatus and 2 seniors doing all apparatus. So no competition.

ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Amelia James?
Girls only get to go if their coaches allow them. They will push who they want out there. Well done on Waverly to get Bonora and Donald back out.
ReplyDeleteWhere is everyone!!! so many gymnasts missing in action... has there been a mass exit from the sport!!!
ReplyDeleteIf they are not 100% and still putting together full routines then it is an expensive competition just for one apparatus
ReplyDeleteOnly the girls on Olympic squad would go with only one or two apparatus as they are fully funded.
ReplyDeleteI think they have to pay to go to national club eventhough they are in the squad, I believe this comp is not funded.
