What a waste of time is National clubs. Need a better comp to attract more of the int gymnasts!
Good luck to the girls and nice to see Godwin has been given a chance!
what would make sense is to have nationals in may/june every year rather than july, and then have national clubs in early sept so it can be a trial for worlds. Having it so close to end of year after all major comps makes it redundant!
It's great to have a competition at a different time of the year like National Clubs as it gives an opportunity for gymnasts to step up a level prior to the main competition season and try out new skills in a competition setting where the stakes aren't as high. It also gives gymnasts who have been injured earlier in the year the chance to compete. You can understand why the Senior girls who have been to Commonwealth Games and World Championships earlier this year and who may be going overseas again soon don't have the need to compete here.
I think there is always a need to compete. The more the gymnasts get used to competing, the better they'll do in competitions. They should be competing to the point that it becomes second nature to them.
By having that comp the very necessary skill upgrades are put on hold to practice routines. There is not enough time to get new skills if u r always preparing for a competition. I think it is the worst time so a competition.
for a competition
gymnasts from the USA (and other successful countries) manage to upgrade to crazy skills AND compete regularly.
We aren't USA. We don't upgrade as quickly. Not right but true.
Yeah, I get we're not like the USA in many ways, but I still believe it's possible to both compete and be working on upgrading. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.
were 2 crap
nice site. i come back again
nice post
Godwin through to beam final in France, ranked number 1, go Aussies!
Woo-hoo! Hope she smashes it and proves the naysayers wrong!
