And an official FIG microsite has been launched today.

Blythe over at The Gymnastics Examiner had a couple of observations about the Aussie men in podium training, which you can check out here.

She also has live updates from the women's podium training session here.

About GSim:

1:20 p.m.: Awesome barwork from Georgia Simpson of Australia! Wonderful bodyline, good amplitude. Youtube her. Simpson traveled with the Aussies to the 2010 Worlds, but was the alternate. She disappeared in 2011. That was just great.

Emily: Emily Little from Australia struggling on bars.

On a side note, it wouldn't surprise me to see Emily on the team as a specialist rather than an AAer at the Big O.

1:43 p.m.: I'm pretty impressed by Georgia Simpson on beam as well. She's very square, and has beautiful long lines but a lot of athletic ability as well. Front aerial, bhs, layout to two feet and bhs, bhs to double tuck dismount. Everything done really well.

Emily Little, the other Australian here, is stylistically her opposite, more about power and strength. But both did quite well on beam.
