Australia started on floor at the last Olympics too it is just the luck of the draw in quals. Australia starts on beam in TF because they often qualify in fifth or sixth.
Qualification Competition: The competition will be run over five subdivisions or rounds of competition as listed, national teams and mixed groups made up of individual gymnasts who have not quualified teams. The apparatus are shown by symbols across the top of the table - Australia has drawn Subdivision 2 to compete first on floor proceeding in Olympic order to vault etc.
Apparatus Finals: The left hand column shows the order of the competitors in the finals competition, the apparatus are shown by symbols along the top of the chart.Listed under the symbols are the places that gymnasts achieve in the qualification round on that apparatus according to those results. Note that gymnasts must compete on 2 apparatus (3 apparatus for MG) in the qualification round to compete in apparatus finals.
Does anyone understand how Gymnix works? I see that the Juniors are together and compete in team and AA then Ash, GRB, MAM, GW, NC and Larissa are in Flight 2 in the Gymnix Challenge for AA and EF then Senior Cup is Lauren Emily and G Sim. So is that 3 different divisions with only the Juniors competing in a team comp? Senior Cup can't be AA as Lauren can't do bars. Confused!
Thank you 11.43. That is much clearer now. I think the mixed group table confused me. On that table are the girls in the mixed groups ranked? (Is that what the column Order refers to?) What is the tripartate entry in MG4?
From the FIG site re Tripartite universality: Three places are set aside for continental balance and for tripartite universality. These places will be nominated in due course by the FIG Executive Committee and the Tripartite Commission respectively.
Re Mixed Group work order: The order stated would be for the first apparatus with the gymnasts work order rotating on the next apparatus.

Starts on beam a lot in TF I should have said
True. But they have also drawn beam starts a number of times in the last few years.
Does anyone know how we can watch the American Cup either online or TV? Do we need to register anywhere to be able to watch online ?
What??! Not starting on beam?? Now there's a pleasant surprise!
How exactly does one read the two tables?
