In the last 24 hours, Australia's female team spoke with the media in Canberra, while the men did their hard yards over in London, both delegations - looking to defend their first place finishes from Delhi - excited and determined.
We have also had two birthdays during the training period: Olivia and Larrissa, congrats ladies!

I watched the Aust Champs on tv yesterday and was really interested hearing Liz Chetkovich's response as to why our WAG's struggle so much with vaulting. She basically said, 'good question' and went on to say the national coaching staff don't know why this is but are trying to figure that out. The good thing is they recognise it's a major flaw. The bad news is, it doesn't seem like it's going to be fixed any time soon.
Good luck to WAIS Senior Gymnast Georgia Simpson as she heads off to Canada this week to start at Ecole International school of Circus Artistry in Montreal.
Olivia wrote a lovely article about Georgia on the WAIS site.Bit of a shame that Gymnastics Australia don't recognise our Seniors as they move on from the sport after years of dedication and commitment.Im sure there are lots of people who would be interested in where gymnastics can take you once you have retired. A bit typical of how they treat these girls as they transition from the sport, especially when your forced out by injury and not of your own accord.
Wishing the girls all the very best for the Comm Games,do us proud!
That is interesting to hear about Georgia Simpson. I get a bit confused with all of the Georgia's - is this the Georgia who badly hurt her ankle in a competition o/s?
Yes, that's correct.whilst representing Australia at PAC Rim 2 months before the Olympic trials.
All the best Georgia S. Absolutely loved your gymnastics and am so sad we never got to see more of it. Wherever you go/end up, they'll lucky to have you. Our loss is their gain!
