Assignments Due?

All we know thus far is that WA is yet again sending a contingent to the November World Cup events.

Lauren Mitchell is slated for the DTB Cup and Massilia Cup, Tain Molendijk and Emily Little are heading to the Massilia Cup as well No word yet on other participants. No doubt Dasha's still recovering from her injury, but I hope the Victorian girls get a look-in as well. They deserve it!

Ashleigh and Lauren are going to DTB and Marseille. Britt will take Dasha's place for Marseille, Tain and Emily will be a two person team.

What's with sending the senior girls to Marseille? I always thought of that comp as more of a smaller event for juniors.

I think one of the reasons that Shona and Georgia don't get the international assignmnets is beacuase of GA wanting to see results. Even though Ash and Lauren may be less consistent they have a chance of winning "hardware" if they hit. GA wants to see a pay off for sending the girls overseas. WIth the exception of Shona on BB there isn't that much chance of the Waverley girls medalling even if they hit their routines.

Also maybe being so good at the Olympics has worked against them. They went to the biggest event in their sport and both performed pretty darn well under the pressure. Maybe in GA eyes it's like " The Waverley girls have what it takes to hit under pressure, these other 2 need a bit more experience on the big stages."

Why wasn't anyone sent to Glasgow? It's catergory A but the field is majorly weak. Missed oppurtunity IMO. Here's hoping Lauren adds the difficulty ot her BB that she was talking about a year or so ago.

What is Ashleigh strongest on?

Is Britt going as a Senior? I would have thought she would remain a junior until at least after Youth Olympics. doesn't she have to be a junior for AYOF?

The Seniors are going to Marseilles because it is some sort of special Massilia - 25 yeasr or something like that and they invite all the olympic countries

Ok, folks, where is any of this information confirmed? Can you tell me please? (And according to the Massilia website, it's a 20 year anniversary this year)

Ashleigh's strongest events are beam and floor, though she's been known to have a nice Y1.5 vault.

Georgia and Shona were offered Marseille first. They chose not to go in order to have some time to rest and start working on some new skills. These girls have been busting their guts to get the best result they can for the Olympics. One can understand their reluctance to get straight back into the frying pan. They need to recharge their batteries.

Does anyone know how Emma Dennis is doing? Is she in the same boat as Georgia/Shona?
