More From Camp Orange

With colloquial little flourishes like "stuffed up big time" and "pissing down rain", I really think we've found a mini Sally McLellan in gymnastics' own Olivia Vivian. Here she is chatting to the OSU newspaper about her Beijing experiences. Let's hope she can pull through and give equally inspiring Sally-style performances for the team (after all, there seems to be quite a bit of pressure on her. One Inside Beavers video had two fellow team members observing that if she's been on an Olympic team then she must surely be 'legit').

ETA Wednesday: The OSU Roster and Bios page has been updated to included the new Freshmen (of which Liv is one). Thanks for the heads-up, Richard!

Olivia couldn't have a better role model than Sally. If she has Sally's same dedication, determination, honesty, talent AND exuberance, then she will do well and Australia will be proud, in spite of the colloquial the language. Marjorie Earl

Thanks for covering Olivia's transition, Mez. Im here in the USA (was giving you some Olympic updates when Beijing was on) and Im SO glad to hear that someone has taken up the US college opportunity. The college atmosphere is AMAZING here. Im not in college but from all my friends here I know that it is such a great time, you make very close friends, the loyalty to the university is unbelievable and the sport scene is great. Even we are going to a college football game just because the atmosphere is great than the AFL grand final! The volume of these universities and the pride they take in their schools is unsurpassed.
I really hope that Liv's experience is a fun one and encourages others to follow as well!
