Way to Georgia G, you've done yourself and QLD Gym proud by the way you've handled yourself and your injury, you are a credit to yourself and the sport, your time will come, good luck in Nanning girls!

Anonymous said...

so who would you guys pick for reserve? Nedov or Vivian?

Anonymous said...

well the comparison is:

VT
Nedov 5.0
Vivian 4.4 with very low execution scores (12.466 and 12.533 in Glasgow)

On this event, Nedov will probably add 1.0+ to our team score.

UB
Nedov 4.3
Vivian 5.7

Nedov would have to be hidden last on this event and only competed unless someone else melted down. However, all the other girls are consistent here. Monckton, who would be the lowest counting routine, scored only 4 or so tenths lower than Vivian for a hit routine here in Glasgow. Munteanu is just as good as Vivian on bars so can replace her here.

BB
Nedov 6.0
Vivian gravitates between 5.0 and 5.7. She scored 13.00 for her hit routine in Glasgow.

I think the relative value here from Nedov is between +5.0 and +1.0 considering Vivian's poorer execution. Nedov has the potential to add a very big score here.

FX
Nedov 5.0
Vivian 5.2

Either of these ladies would ideally be the dropped score on floor. Negligible difference really.

In my mind, Nedov is the better choice.

1) she is likely to score better internationally on execution

2) she adds real and tangible value to the beam lineup - more than Vivian adds to bars. Without Nedov on beam, we would be competing Munteanu, Brown and Vivian up there. They will not rival Nedov in any way in terms of scoring potential. Nedov would probably even outscore them with a fall in they had a few bobbles.

3) Nedov also adds +1.0 to our COUNTING vault score with her yurchenko full.

4) You could argue to go with Vivian's experience but fact is she didn't hit in Glasgow under pressure when it counted. She can't be trusted on beam any more than Nedov.

So it's really Nedov adding 1.0+ to our vault and beam or Vivian adding 0.5+ to knock out
Monckton's score on UB. 2.0 vs 0.5?

Has to be Nedov.

Anonymous said...

so to answer the question you're saying 'it has to be Nedov' for reserve???

Anonymous said...

Not real good at maths then are you ^^^

Anonymous said...

I think it's time to give some of the younger girls some world competition experience. Olympics is two years away. I would like to see Emma stand up and give it a crack.

Anonymous said...

What's wrong with Georgia G? Is she injured? Otherwise why didn't she make the team again?

Anonymous said...

@ 8.00am apparently I'm better at English sentence construction and syntax than you though.. It's '...really any good at maths'.

Anonymous said...

Is that all you have at 9.22pm? When you start picking at sentences on a blog site then you know you are scraping the bottom of the barrel. Just pointing out it is clear the writer has made a great point and you want to be smug and not understand the maths. You are a troll and get back in your box.

piss off anon 6:43

I have seen the improvement in Emma in the last 6 months. She is ready for this. It's her time!

Anonymous said...

Grow up anon 10.10am. Evidently a troll, you can't even get the time right??

Anonymous said...

does anyone know if Emma has upgraded since nationals?

Anonymous said...

Georgia Godwin has a large tear in her calf muscle.

Anonymous said...

So disappointed for her.

Anonymous said...

thats what time it says for me

Anonymous said...

must be a different time zone

Anonymous said...

Obviously not since he got her to Worlds.... Have you finished school yet D...

Anonymous said...

Yea rite ha ! He didnt do nething!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Oh right, you're not at school...

Anonymous said...

Bad luky caoch nomatter wat

Anonymous said...

Who's coach r u talking about?

Anonymous said...

Nedov

Anonymous said...

Evr1 nows hes bad. We want him go awey

Anonymous said...

Oh yippee, the Epping basher is back.

Anonymous said...

Constructive

Anonymous said...

So who is this Epping coach and why is he so bad?

Anonymous said...

Epping IDP program destroyed, finished.

Anonymous said...

He is not bad. He would have to be one of the best coaches in the country and I will continue to stand up for him if anon 8.59 (who can't spell) continues.

Anonymous said...

The YMCA closed the programme down due to the CEO resigning

Anonymous said...

The IDP Program didn't fit the YMCA values of equal opportunity for all. They pushed it out the door unfortunately. the coach has just got Emma to worlds. Lots of jealous parents of failed gymnasts out there.

Anonymous said...

Seriously Emma only made it by default, c'mon be truthful

Anonymous said...

It is the truth however

Anonymous said...

Nasty and untrue.

Anonymous said...

Very untrue babe. What default sweetheart?? Funny how the haters suddenly appeared after Emma was selected.

Anonymous said...

Get back in your box troll. Jelly parents the lot of you.

Anonymous said...

anon 6.24 Emma was the junior int. gymnast of the year 2011. Youth commonwealth games gold medallist and 2013 national beam champion. Default huh?

Anonymous said...

Very accomplished young lady who battled with injury and had to fight against the belief she had not a hope. Yet she was selected. She is a trooper and just battled through pain and injury to get there. Wow cant you move on.

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry you feel you have to justify her selection that speaks volumes in itself. But seriously stop kidding yourself, due to other athletes injuries she got selected. Simple as that. Not rocket science. And no haters here just realists!

Anonymous said...

You should feel sorry for your own pathetic life keyboard warrior. I can just imagine you ranting at the computer that your daughter missed out should have, could but didn't.

Anonymous said...

Haha, no point talkin to a parent, friend or relative. Always ends up the same way. As long as you feel good now, that's all that matters but be a realist, probably never feel like this again hahaha

Anonymous said...

Feelin real good fatty ;)

Anonymous said...

Hahah a true reflection of oneself is the way they view others hahahaha

Anonymous said...

Went on fb memes to grab that one lovey?

Anonymous said...

Haters gonna hate. ..

Anonymous said...

Well the truth finally is out! A program that was successful for so many years but within 2 years of a turnover, management had had enough. Some girls pushed out some left but numbers low and a once powerhouse club gone. To the hater bad speller who's rants started very early on I feel you may have had prior dealings and maybe your warnings should have been taken seriously because look at the outcome. Emma best of luck on beam but please give the correct coach the recognition!

Anonymous said...

Totally I wish Emma and Darren all the best, this is her time to shine. She needs to grab this chance or with the injured coming back, she probably won't get another!

Anonymous said...

ARGH! Wrong coach

Anonymous said...

So who is the coach we should be thanking for Nedov's gym skills then?

Anonymous said...

Oh yes everything was going swimmingly well when Ping and Ma both left the program with no high performance coaches...the program was almost done then until Darren gave it a lifeline. Were you even there at 7.50pm?

Anonymous said...

I must say the above information is incorrect and very disrespectful to the 2 female Chinese beam coaches who deserve all the credit for Nedov on beam.

Anonymous said...

There are 4 apparatus emma trialled at camp. No one, not even Mitchell, gets a chance at Worlds for one event.

Anonymous said...

I have heard Georgia Godwin was injured for this trial, was she also injured for Comm games trials? If so are is the injury management at QAS as fault? Asking the realist this one.

Anonymous said...

Anyone have any details on the actual routines or skills performed at trials?

How about we try to keep the talk about the actually gymnastics - with comments like those above it is no wonder the comments section sometimes gets stopped.

Anonymous said...

Maybe it would be helpful if the site owner/moderator was actually around moderating the comments.

Mez said...

Oh I'm here. Seeing every single one of these comments as they come through. The last time I asked people to keep it civil and even deleted the particularly unkind comments I was given all manner of hell for it.

Let it unfold and get told I'm not doing the right thing; moderate and try to keep things appropriate/on topic and get told I'm not doing the right thing.

Anonymous said...

Oh good. I, for one, am glad you're not deleting the comments. It's nice to know you're here tho :)

Anonymous said...

Just delete them Mez if u want to - ur the one who has gone to the trouble of working on this website - it is quite different to a 'discussion board' that no one is monitoring/responsible for if u know what I mean. Personally, I take no notice of nonsense messages and just skip to the bits about the actual gymnastics....so it doesn't worry me one way or the other but it is ur blog and u have a right to do what u want. U shouldn't have to put up with crap with all the trouble u go to keep gym fans updated. I for one appreciate the effort you go to - I always visit ur site before gymnastics Australia, for example because I know u have the most up to date info. Thanks for all of ur efforts!

Anonymous said...

Totally agree. No one wants to see defamatory comments about coaches and gymnasts by anonymous trolls purporting to be experts. It may be titillating but it dumbs this sport.
