After this first round of competition, Thomas Pichler leads the senior AA standings, with reigning national champ Sam Offord in second, and Luke Wadsworth in third.
Pacific Rim representative Tyson Bull is tops for juniors AA , with fellow Victorian Kevin James and Queenslander Brody-Jai Hennessy sitting in equal second.

Go victoria?? They only won because of QLD stuffing pommel and NSW stuffing high bar. There is no mention of Tsukahara competing and becoming an aussie citizen next year. Imagine what he will do for our mens team. With him, Phil and Prashanth and the other guys in supporting roles, that is a team to be reckoned with!
WTF GA? You give us no coverage of the WAG competition and then you provide quickhits and videos for MAG? Where is the equality?
Clearly the program manager for MAG is a little bit more on-the-ball than the WAG program manager.
OR the person running the page was able to get to Canberra but not Perth...

A win is a win. Not hitting routines when it counts is unfortunate, but hey, that's how this sport goes.
I would love to see us with a great mens team as you mentioned out on the worlds playing field.
After writing that I had a chance to look and the program manager for WAG is the same person for MAG so probably the reports are written by someone else. But I'm sure that there were some GA staff in Perth though Mez, and they would have been able to take notes and email them to the web person similar to what Brinds did here.
I'm not too worried as I feel like I got a fair bit on info off this page from Perth but on the GA website it looks as though there is more enthusiasm from the MAG peeps. Looks like a pretty good line up in Canberra though!
You can probably thank Rohan Kennedy for doing the MAG updates. He is being very proactive and he deserves a medal for it since being proactive and getting info out is certainly never encouraged by Gymnastics Australia.
Anon at 11.17, so Tsukahara does intend to compete for Australia? At last year's nationals he competeed but no mention of him wanting to compete for Aus was ever made. It would definitely be a boost to the mens team.

I'd like to see GA take a leaf from the British Gymnastics website where they have BGTV and show the highlights and routines from their Nationals. BGtv is an amazing, entertaining resource and I've been saying for a while now we need something like it here.
Apparently Tsukahara qualifies for australian citizenship next year so he is intending to compete for australia as soon as that comes through.
That will be great- hopefully in time for team qualifications at worlds 2011. It would be AWESOME to qualify a mens team to London 2012. Our current crop of men seem pretty great and his inclusion would really boost our chances I guess!
