Safe travels girls!!!!!!
Go Australia - So proud of you young ladies :) Your best will be fine by me :)
Go girls!
There was a piece on Lauren Mitchell on the Today show this morning, it was sort of an amalgamation of pieces Channel Nine has done in the past, I've search for the video link to no avail thou, but will post if i do eventually manage to find it.
there's a pic of the girls at the airport on the AusOlympicTeam twitter. The bad news is that Miller's foot is in a huge boot.
The massive issue with that is that the team selectors made no contingency plans and as a result Bonora doesn't even have a floor. Meaning that if Miller can't do floor then we don't even have four routines to put up anymore.
If she can't do floor they will have to drop Miller and put in Brown. Who makes the call on whether or not to call in reserves? To me it seems unjustifiable to put up only 3 routines in an olympic games when you have a healthy athlete waiting in the wings. It's like digging your own grave.
Here is the pic btw:

Concerning but you wouldn't want to overreact or anything...it's a little early to demand the alternate, don't you think! They're obviously going with Larrissa at this point since they didn't leave her at home.
Larrissa did roll her ankle last week, the boot is a precaution for walking long distances and to give it a rest. Calm down.
miller will be competing floor, but watered down routines. i think shes opening with two front alyouts, a double full and a layout full.
im sorry I love Larissa but if she is not capable of doing all four events at full capacity then you need to look at calling in the reserve . Australia needs all hands on deck and as disappointing as it might be if she is unable to do a full floor routine she should be replaced by the reserve.
Hopefully this will not be the case and the ankle will be fine fingers crossed
You "think" or you "know", Anon? I am not having scaremongering here.
re: the pic at the airport...
I don't think their athlete IDs are big enough lol!
If the reserve was any better, maybe she would be called in. That is not the case.
Tricky situation. Can't do without Larissa on bars but GB doesn't do floor so where to sacrifice ??? Guess watered down floor best option. Or maybe would've been a good idea to put in an all rounder for fifth spot then the stress would've been off. I'm sure a full recovery will be made by Larissa it's amazing just being at the Olympics is enough to aid recovery.
So much training, tears and sweat just to fulfilled the dream to win a medal.
