Pretty self-explanatory, really. These are from the Herald Sun website.
Apologies for the apparent crapness in quality of the last one, I edited the photo in Paint.
1. Ashleigh on a basketballer's shoulders, with the team physio at the bottom looking on. This is a cropped version of what was in the newspaper, Olivia was off to the left.
2. Here she is! Livvy and Ash (with her back to us) ride high in the crowd of athletes
3. And here I was, thinking I wasn't good at "Spotto"!
If you caught Sunrise this morning, you'd have briefly seen the Aus girls doing nice handstands for the camera (great efforts to stand them up for more than 10 seconds given jet lag, confined space and the potential for shirts-riding-up-on-national-television) and Naazmi doing a lovely...erm... I don't quite know what they call it when they do the bend-your-leg-and-hold-your-foot-up-to-your-head thing. One-legged stationary sheep jump? Anyway, she did that with a big smile. Such a shame they made the girls look like performing monkeys...)

Who's Olivia sitting on? The girls are so light they would have been easy to hold. Must have been a great view from up there!!
Where's Lauren?
Ash looks like she's sitting on Andrew Bogut's shoulders....don't recognise the hottie Olivia is sitting on the shoulders of. *L*

I don't know where Lauren is. I've not spotted her in any of the photos and I didn't see if she was on Sunrise this morning...
AGF have added more photos to their wrap-up of Beijing and there's some classic photos there. *L* Lauren's in all of them, just haven't seen any of her in the closing ceremony ones.

Wonderful pictures! Is there anymore pictures of the lovely Australian girls in Olympics closing ceremony?
So glad they got to stay for the closing ceremony, all the USA gymnasts excluding Shawn went home on the Thursday- way to waste an experience girls! Why go and then not enjoy the whole thing? Good to see the pics of the Aussie girls ont he GA website (latest news) enjoying themselves at the Great Wall and in a video game parlour. They also rubbed shoulders with Bogut, Thorpe and Princess Mary! Mice work taking it all in! All the hard work would have been worth it!!
Lauren's dad use to live in Beijing. Maybe they decided to stay a bit longer and have him show them some sights? He works in Singapore now so she doesn't see him that often, wouldn't suprise me if they're taking a holiday after the Olympics
BTW any news on who is going to the Glasgow and DTB world cups in october/november? Apparently the DTB is also having an AA comp too
No idea; but in one article written just after the Olympic AA, Peggy stated that Georgia and Shona's good performances in Beijing have resulted in boosted chances of World Cup assignment selection.
Fingers crossed!
I think 4 girls can be sent to both, with 2 on each apparatus allowed to do qualifying
They're called ring jumps (or ring leaps if taking off from one foot). Stupid question for Bec: what does AGF stand for?
Oh, I actually meant the move where they do a scale, but then grab the foot of the back leg and bend the leg up so it touches their head.
Is that just some kind of scale/arabesque?
PS- "AGF" is the Australian Gymnastics Federation. It's what Gymnastics Australia was known as before they became Gymnastics Australia.
Okay, thanks. Re: the thing you're describing, in our gym it's always been called a ring hold, but that's probably an unofficial name. Probably a ring arabesque or something.
